Delete key not working

It no longer works for me to hold down the Delete key and delete one letter after another. Instead, it makes me press it each time in order to delete a letter.

Obviously, I can deal with it by doing it one at a time or highlighting and then hitting delete, but do any of you know of a way to fix this?
