Final Cut Pro File Too Large

I'm not sure why, but the end size of my project on Final Cut Pro is an outrageous 10gb. It's a typical 4.5 minute video, some background sounds, text on screen etc. I'm not exactly sure why it would be 10gb, it seems a bit much. Any suggestion on how to change this, or why this is happening?

Do you mean the Library file?

If you never cleaned out unused render files it can grow to behemoth dimensions. I cleaned out older libraries and had one that had 50 GB of render files... in one hour I created space of 150 GB.

Here is how to clean up the render files (this won't delete any of your scenes): https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12704?locale=en_US

another tip: if you know that some clips are useless to you (too many takes, out of focus, etc.. . mark them red and then you can delete them. Especially if they are long takes you can gain additional space)
