No. iPhones do not and have never had a global warranty.

The warranty and AppleCare+ are only valid in the country where the device was originally sold.

That is a 2 year old article, which has never been confirmed by Apple, nor has anyone to my knowledge every been able to prove that through an Indian Authorized Service provider (Apple has no retail stores in India). Notice its specifically mentions its for India, and not any other countries.

It may be true, but there is no evidence to back it up ti this day. I would expect there would be tons of personal accounts here in the forums and elsewhere online of that working if indeed that was the case.

You take your chances with that in India and other countries. Be prepared to be denied service.

Apple's warranty terms specifically state they may restrict warranty service outside the country of purchase, and there are many posts here in forums confirming this is the case in many countries.

You can read Apple's Warranty terms here: Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty

Apple wrote:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV and HOMEPOD SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Doesnt matter what any news, blog or other internet post says. The only thing that actually matters legally are Apple’s actual terms for their warranty. In India, you can read the hardware warranty at https://www.apple.com/in/legal/warranty/

That warranty in India has the exact same clause that every iPhone warranty, in every country, has always had:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV AND HOMEPOD SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.”
