Safari bookmarks: moving a bookmark
Within any particular main folder in my bookmarks list, I have some subfolders at the top of the list. Below these are many individual bookmarks. If I move a particular bookmark (e.g. a new one, which initially has appeared at the bottom of the list) to the top, just beneath the subfolders, it always goes into the nearest subfolder and there seems to be no way of situating it at the top of the list of individual bookmarks.
I have found a way of getting round this: my Mac is linked to my iPhone via iCloud. On my phone, I can slide a bookmark up to immediately below the subfolders and it stays there without disappearing into the nearest subfolder. After a few seconds, it appears in the right place in the Mac's bookmarks, too. But this is a long roundabout way of doing something that ought to be achievable directly on the Mac. Can anyone please advise?
