Mac crashes after Mojave 10.14.4 update & reinstall

Each time I come back to my Mac after screensaver has been initiated and then the computer sleeps, I get a message that states that my computer has restarted due to a problem. I have no idea what the problem is.

I DO know that I have reinstalled all my software after wiping my HD clean because of adware and other issues. It runs very slowly now. The install was done manually because Time Machine also failed and became unavailable except through copying individual files over - over the course of a couple of weeks. Apple (phone) and the Apple store claim that the HD has no problem and that the external backup "must have been the problem." I have a different external backup and I am still having issues.

Google Backup and Sync NEVER stops - even if I have not used my computer for 4 days! Google says that's normal. It wasn't until I upgraded to Mojave. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have tried to include an Etrecheck that I just did, but apparently it's too long. I am trying to attach it as a report now.

Also, EtreCheck says This machine has 32-bits apps will not work after macOS 10.14 “Mojave”. Does this mean I need to buy a new computer? Is there a way to upgrade it? Thanks again!

When macOS 10.15 arrives you will no longer be able to use the 32bit apps. Most apps should be updated to 64bit at some point for compatibility with macOS 10.15, but some developers may take their time about the updates. Check the App Store or the developer website to see if those 32bit apps have been updated to 64bit before you update macOS to 10.15. The only reason you would need a new computer is if your computer does not support macOS 10.15 and you want to use macOS 10.15.

If a 32bit app you need never gets updated, then you should not upgrade to macOS 10.15 when it is released.

Mojave and all your current apps will still continue to work and Mojave will receive security updates and patches for another couple of years.

The DriveDX report is only showing the SSD. Can you also provide the report for the hard drive? You may have to select the second drive in the left pane. If not, can you take a screenshot of the "Health Attributes" for the hard drive which should be the second drive which may be listed as "disk1"?

I have run the Apple “repair” and it seems okay. I will do it again and see if I can screen capture the report.

As for the Time Machine backup, that is a new one I returned the old one that Apple insisted was problematic- lost all my TMBackups. I can still try running diagnostics without it connected just to see. I will post back tomorrow.

Thanks!

I tried both those to no avail. I looked at all the software that was crashing based on the EtreCheck and I decided to reinstall Mojave and (fingers crossed) it has not restarted due to problems for 24 hours!

Seems like I may be having a similar issue ever since downloading the latest update.

I’m working with a 2017 Macbook Pro Touchbar (w touchbar), and I’ve been experiencing extreme slow downs with consistent freezing— something that has only happened a handful of times since I’ve had the computer. Only difference is that I have yet to experience a full crash.

Does anyone know what the latest update was for? I’m currently on the move so I can’t review the docs but this is really strange and I can’t imagine it’s a coincidence.

So it now appears that one of the culprits might be a "bad kernel" or a corrupt Photo file. When I reinstalled everything and manually copied folders back onto my HD, Photos kept getting stuck. I ended up doing individual photos rather than the whole file at once. There are tons of duplicates and every dupe program I have run shows that it's working to remove them, but they are still there. For safety to insure I had backups of my photos, I bought the PhotoStick. It keeps getting stuck.

I have dozens of strange error messages like "unapproved caller. SecurityAgent may only be invoked by Apple software." This is only one -- my email accounts won't hold my passwords is another.
