I received an old iPad mini with 9.3.2 version on it. While setting it up i believe ios 9.3.5 was downloaded but it is unable to install. When i press on "install now" it just keeps on installing for hours but nothing happens. Any ideas how to solve this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

If you have a real computer connected up to the Internet, you could try installing/using iTunes, connect the iPad to the computer and use iTunes to try and download and install the iOS 9.3.5 update that way.
