Left AirPod won’t charge and has a red exclamation mark

Hi, since a couple days ago my left AirPod started to act weird. It won’t charge when I put it in the case and when I try to restart my AirPods, the popup on my iPhone will show the right AirPod with 100% but the left AirPod has a red exclamation mark next to it. I’ve tried restarting multiple times but it didn’t work, I also tried hard resetting it but I never see an amber light. When I open my AirPods case, the light is flashing green. I’ve tried cleaning my AirPods and also the case, but it didn’t work. I’ve also tried connecting them to another iOS device, but it didn’t work too.

Is there any other possible solution to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello,

There probably is some lint or debris in the charging case that is preventing a good connection:

Charge your AirPods with charging case and learn about battery life

Then try a full reset: Reset your AirPods

Hi, I am having exact same problem, have tried all Apple and forum suggestions, having spoke with Apple I am going into tomorrow to see Genius Bar, and will report back here once they decide course of action.

Apple told me that there had been an issue with left pod, I had 2 sets that were deemed faulty by genius bar in apple store birmingham uk, they exchanged no problem at all, recommend taking them into a store.

Bought a Brand New Set and they came out of the box with this issue. I bought them and left out of the country same day so now I am stuck with no AirPods. Tried everything previously stated.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Sadly, cleaning it doesn't work and neither does resetting it. I'll be going to the store tomorrow to see if they can do something about it.

having the same issue! just purchased last week as well. i've tried cleaning and going to bring into the apple store when im back in the US. did you have any success at the genius bar?
