SOS locked me out

My wife's phone accidentally triggered SOS while it was in her purse. It worked as expected and called everyone including the Sheriff's dept. Now her phone is locked and she can't enter Settings to turn the notifications off. Hard re-boot doesn't work either.

Hello vahaag,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I see from your post that your wife's iPhone is currently locked after an accidental SOS call.

When you say her iPhone is locked out, what exactly is it showing on screen?

Try the steps in this article called If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

I hope this information helps you.

Kindest Regards.

You can make an Emergency SOS call on iPhone X the same way as before, by rapidly pressing the side button 5 times. To do this it must be enabled in Settings -> Emergency SOS, where you can toggle "Call with Side Button."

What you are saying is when the iPhone was inside her purse the iPhone rapidly pressed the side button 5 times? Before it calls the iPhone makes huge sound for 5 Seconds. She did not even hear that sound. OK

  • If she accidentally called emergency services, she could have ended the call. Tap ", then confirm that you want to stop calling.

What exactly do you mean by "Locked"? Because by making an emergency call your iPhone does not get locked.
