Remote widget not fully working in iOS 12.3

I just updated iPhone to iOS 12.3 and Apple TV to TVOS 12.3. Since the updates, I found the Apple TV Remote widget in Control Centre has lost some functionality. While the trackpad is working fine, none of the other controls, e.g. Menu, Home, Play/Pause are working.

The issue is resolved after performing the following:

  1. Reboot iPhone
  2. Reboot Apple TV
  3. Delete the iPhone from the Apple TV (Settings/Remotes and Devices/Remote App and Devices)
  4. Hold the iPhone close to the Apple TV to pair it again
  5. Open the Remote widget and select the Apple TV at top of the screen

This is also restored the ability to type in the search screen from the iPhone
