Unable to close my VScode on macbook which is hung since 2 days

I tried all the kill commands, and it is showing as Not Responding on my Activity Monitor. It is consuming a lot of memory and not allowing me to run other applications or a new version of VS Code

Hi shamakn,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with an unresponsive app on your Mac. I’m happy to help. To start, I suggest making sure you’ve tried the steps here:

How to force an app to quit on your Mac - Apple Support

If that doesn’t help, I suggest restarting your Mac. You may have to force it to shut down if the app prevents it from doing so:

How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support

If the above doesn’t help, I suggest booting into safe mode:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

Let me know if that helps.

Take care.
