Macbook Pro - Trackpad stuck issue, related to battery?

My trackpad sometimes gets stuck physically - it doesn't make click sound anymore and it's not responsive at all. After some time (it could be hours, days or weeks) it randomly starts working again.

I've noticed that every time I turn off my Mac the trackpad also becomes stuck physically so I wonder if this has anything to do with battery perhaps? My Mac is only 2 years old - is it possible that battery has swollen?

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.13
