Delete sparse bundle from Time Capsule

When I try to delete a sparse bundle backup for a Mac that I no longer have, I get the following error message - "The operation can’t be completed because the item “bands” is in use." Running Mojave 10.14.4

Apple care told me to erase it and after messing about told me to now backup again. guess what its a sparse bundle file. question can I restore from this backup?

Since some time timemachine cannot make a backup on time capsule. Selected 'Move to Trash' while holding down the Control key and it worked.
