I print to pdf all the time. Is there a way to have it ask for a file name? I have to open finder and rename the file every time.

Command P opens the print dialog> PDF>Save as PDF

Here the title is highlighted and ready for any change to be made to the title.

You could write a script and assign it to a function key. I use keyboard maestro. There are others. I've never been ablte to get macos > keyboard > short keys -- to do what I want.

prehaps you could do all with the paid app keyboard maestro. You could try it out for free. I have not tried what below. It's only a guess. You can write an applescript to do what you want within the app.

PS. I'm a programmer, so you'd expect a programming solution from me.
