annoying: saving pdf from pages and numbers

I use 'save to pdf' very frequently, now for years, so I do not have to print ánd to send printed invoices to my customers. I even added a 'command P' so it is quickly accessible form the print-command (I love using the keyboard as much as possible).

For some time now (I do not know since which version or Os), the extension of the program is included in the filename, f.e.: filename.pages.pdf.

This is very annoying and does not look very professional, in my opinion.

Also this behaviour is not wat I remember.

Maybe I am overlooking a setting somewhere … . Does anyone know how to change this so that the name of the program is not visible?

Thanks

You can send feedback to the Pages Product team from the application menu about this compound Save as PDF naming issue. There is no magical feature in the print facility that will fix this filename.pages.pdf naming convention. It has been around for several years now. This brings us to the next question…

Are you not using the File menu > Export To > PDF… approach because you need the extra security options available or the PDF metadata fields (Title, Author, etc.) from the Save as PDF dialog?

It might be possible with some programming to tell the applications to open this save panel with the correct filename.pdf entry and then allow you to choose other functionality on this panel as needed. Not sure of the complexity as I have not done this with Pages yet.

the first one: no, that is too much hassle. I want a plain and simple way to save to pdf. it is the way I fix my invoices.

the second issue: I did have a conversation with an apple-techy many years ago. … this is virtually impossible, so I have been told.
