Well there you go. As per the terms of service of the iTunes Store, all sales and subscriptions are final, and Apple is under no obligation to grant refunds.
They are known to do so on occasion for good enough reasons, but if they don't find the reason compelling enough they are known to deny it and are within their rights to do so. Other than appealing to them again, there's not much else to do.
I actually did do that and it said it couldn’t request the refund because it wasn’t a good enough answer
