i have an imac (2010) which does not work at all except for the fact that the screen is not broken and I can turn on the screen (but I cannot boot the computer/imac) i also have an Mac Mini which I now want to use as a computer using the screen of my imac as a monitor. should this in theory work?
and if so does anyone has any suggestions?

I doubt you can use yours since the computer isn't functioning, but you can certainly try.
