submerged iPhone 8 in water for a second

Hi - I dropped my iPhone 8 in the washing machine, and it fully submerged, but I fished it out immediately and wiped it off. Had a standard cover on it. Seemed to be working fine just after, but I removed cover and wiped, wiped around openings, etc. and then turned off and put in bowl of rice. Thinking that rice could potentially do damage with openings? Not sure. Some advice online seems outdated.

Should I be concerned? What else should I do/not do?
