Remove bitdefender icon from menu bar

Hello,

I am having this wierd problem wherein I can't remove the bitdefender icon from the Menu Bar. I managed to uninstall the application by following the steps mentioned in the article https://www.bitdefender.com/support/can-i-uninstall-bitdefender-virus-scanner-by-using-the-drag-and-drop-method-1084.html. However I have tried going through multiple sites and havent been able to remove this annoying icon. Please advice.
