Turning off Menu Bar and bottom Bar. iPad ios12

I have a new ipadpro 11 in.....

While watching movies, I can't get rid of the top menubar nor the bottom bar for the dock. They illuminate continually and make it difficult to watch the move. I use AV Player to view movies and it does not do this on my other iPad using iOS 12. I've searched the settings on both the ap and the iPad but can't find any differences between the two iPads......

Any ideas???

Thanks

John

I'm a bit confused as there are some omitted details.

So it sounds like you have a movie on your MacBook - presumably in your iTunes Library there under "Movies" - and you're trying to view this movie on your iPad.

If so, assuming your iPad is up to date with iOS 12.3, you should see that movie in the iPad's TV app (under your "Library" tab). If it's there, you can view it from there. If I got the situation wrong, tell me what facts I'm missing.

Actually, I have a number of saved movies in my documents folder. When I try to upload them to my iTunes library, it seems that they don't go in. That was the reason for AV Player. Via iTunes, I share (upload) the file I have on my mac's documents folder. Works or at least it did flawlessly.....Same with VLC but I preferred AV player

Again, maybe I'm missing something here but it isn't slightly odd the AV player would behave differently using the same IOS? I would have though it's behavior would be more IOS specific than machine specific.....

Any tips to what I might be doing wrong with the iTunes library would be appreciated....Is it limited to purchases from iTunes maybe?

Thanks

John

Sorry, but I don't buy that as they are not there when I'm using AV player on another iPad pro. Same IOS version.

Leads me to believe there 'is' a setting somewhere either on the IOS or in AV Player....That was kind of my question. Don't want to get into 'iTunes' vs AV Player because I felt iTunes lost that one a long time ago.....

Thanks for you efforts though

Aloha

John
