safari not remembering searches in google, blue websites become purple but then blue again

If you use Chrome you know when you search in google that websites become purple when you visit them. What I mean is that when you do a search the websites are all blue in color. Search for something in Safari, compare to Chrome...all blue unless you have visited it before. Now click on a blue one it becomes purple. Now click the back button. The websites should still be purple but they are not, they are all now blue. This is frustrating as I need to know where I have been perviously for work purposes, to keep track of the sites I have visited, etc. Is anyone seeing this??

Enable the Develop menu by navigating to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and select “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Then navigate to Develop > Experimental Features and deselect “Swap Processes on Cross-Site Navigation”.
