safari not remembering searches in google, blue websites become purple but then blue again

Enable the Develop menu by navigating to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and select “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Then navigate to Develop > Experimental Features and deselect “Swap Processes on Cross-Site Navigation”.

Have you tried deleting the cookies for the web sites is Safari/Preferences/Privacy/Manage Website Data?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

I'm having this issue too. My computer (MacBook Pro 13" 2016 was recently in the apple shop for repairs and i did a complete back-up / wipe / and restore and it started when I got the repaired computer back and everything was re-installed. I'm using Mojave 10.14.5 and SAFARI 12.1.1. SO annoying!
