Yes It is some security software provided by Sky television which possibly is 32 bit

try ~Library/Cisco/VideoGuardPlayer/VideoGuardMonitor/

To find "Library" in Finder, navigate to "Go" at the top and while in that menu, hold down the "option" key. It'll pop-up.

You can use EasyFind (Free) from the App Store to do a search for "VideoGuardMonitor".

Someone at some time installed Sky Go and didn’t use uninstall to get rid, is the logical reason however improbable that may seem. Previous owner? Guest account?

That bundle is supposed to stop piracy so you’d expect it to be a sod to get rid of. Might still be.

Spotlight does not, and never claimed to, index the entire contents of the drive. It focuses on your data, and the front facing elements of the OS. Hidden folders (such as the User Library) are not indexed. The notion of a "fully indexed Spotlight" is a fantasy.

Well it most likely wouldn't be at the ~/Library level. It would most likely have been in a folder inside ~/Library. I asked because that might have given a clue to what installed it. Since you already deleted it we may never know.

P.S. it’s a pity that a free app is better than the fully indexed Spotlight.

Hi Terence I knew it didn’t index everything but I assumed wrongly that it would still search for everything. That is disappointing indeed.
