Pairing an apple watch with a damaged screen
So I have sadly taken some damage to my apple watch (3rd Ten 42mm) but it still works well enough for me to continue using it albeit with reduced touchscreen functionality (I can only use the top 20% of the screen as the impact damage was a bout a 5th of the way down from the top of the screen causing a horizontal crack. An apple advisor told me its not with fixing as a new one is about the same price. Anyway I have upgraded my iphone form a 6 to a 7. I unpaired my watch from my 6 but during the pairing to my 7 it failed to pair and the message on the watch will not go away. It asks to try again or quit but i can't touch the buttons on the watch as they are at the bottom of the screen.
So is there any kind of hard reset that I can do even if it means loosing all the data and settings that will then allow me to pair the watch without having to touch the screen of the watch? At the moment I'm running the battery down on the watch as much as possible in the hope that when i wake it back up it will have reset its logic loop and just want to repair from the beginning.
