The MDM server for your organization returned an unexpected status (403) error

I was trying to run a .pkg file on my macbook, which is under remote management by my organization. A site recommended that I restart my Mac, and hold command + S then type:

mount -uw /

rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

reboot

This brought me to the welcome screen to create an account. I navigated fine until the “Remote Management” slide. I entered my correct login credentials, but it said “The MDM server for your organization returned an unexpected status (403)”

(My colleagues were able to pass this screen on their Macs with no issues)

After restarting several times, I can’t get back to the normal login screen (the one you get to when starting the computer normally had I not used command + S) and I can’t get past the Remote Management screen either.

I have a project on the Mac due in two days, so I’m in a bit of an urgent situation.

Any suggestions for either getting back to the normal login or getting past the error?
