Safari freezes after launch showing a pop that vanishes immediately

A popup appears when i launch Safari and disappears before i can click on it. After that, if i click anywhere on Safari it just makes a beep sound. The popup is about importing history and bookmark from Chrome. Options under safari are greyed out including Quit Safari, Preferences, Clear history, etc.


I have tried some troubleshooting like clearing cache by deleting the file and the options mentioned here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203353

You are welcome. Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply.
