Time Capsule replacement I have a 10 year old Time capsule/router that needed replacement. The problem was the router portion was getting problematic and needed to be replaced. Apple no longer makes the Time capsule. I have three MacBook Pro's that were each storing data on the Time capsule. I tried to connect my Time capsule to the new router to back up my computers. Following the Apple recommended solution I have one problem. I have no ethernet ports on my Macbooks? Any suggestions on how to use my Time Capsule or am I no longer able to use the Time Capsule to back up my computers?

If you are connected to the TC from the Mac.. you can mount the TC disk in Finder.. if it does not show in finder.. use top menu, Go and Connect to Server.. use the airport utility to discover the TC IP address and type that in as follows.

afp://10.0.1.1 (replace with your IP)

or in later OS

smb://10.0.1.1

Once mounted you can check the contents.
