Post-2016 MacBook Pro & Terminal - Safest Native Way to Disable Automatic Lid-Lifting Power-On

Post-2016 MacBook Pro - Disable Lifting the Lid to Power it On

Automatically powering on the 2018 MacBook Pro after lifting the screen...

is it safe to disable this function through use of Terminal?

I know the Terminal commands to do so, as I use them on my 2018 MacBook Pro already, but should I be doing so?

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.14

"Touchbar disable" <--- What do you mean by that? I "Terminal-dabled" it, I guess you could say.

Sounds like it solved your problem.

2018 MacBook Pro Touchbar to disable your Mac's Auto Boot feature— Auto Boot powers on your Mac when you open the lid, or plugging in the charger—

From the Terminal copy & paste:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00

Yes it is safe.

Touchbar disable your Mac's Auto Boot feature. Auto Boot powers on your Mac when you open the lid, or plugging in the charger. From Terminal copy & paste:
