Office 2016 and 2019 are 64 bit versions.

Previous versions of Office are not and will not work with the next major release of macOS.

You will need to purchase a new version from Microsoft.

For what it's worth, Office 2011 is known to have problems with the current version of macOS. It is not fully compatible.

Office 2008 and earlier are not compatible at all.

Versions of Office prior to 2016 are no longer supported by Microsoft at all.

I'm always reluctant to remove old apps. Probably sentimental reasons :)

2016, 2011, 2008 all open and 'run' at the same time. I do get the warnings that all support is gone for 2008 and 2011 as you noted. This is on a Retina iMac 5K below

PS maryann726

Follow advice of others upstream and get either a subscription to 365 or find the lowest price for 2016

How long will Office 2016 be supported?

This is the current release of Office, with a support schedule that matches up perfectly with Windows 10.

Mainstream support ends: Oct. 13, 2020

Extended support ends: Oct. 14, 2025

What do you mean with they continue to work?

Do they work on your Mac now?

Did you just buy a Mac and want to use your existing license for Office on it?

If you have an Office 365 subscription, you can download and install Office on your Mac from office.com per the terms of your subscription license.

If you have a standalone Windows version of Office, it will not run on a Mac.

I'm not sure what you mean by "continue to work" -- after you do an update? after some other future change? or ?

You may be able to get help in this forum.

There is also a Microsoft forum for user-to-user support for Office for Mac: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/mso_mac?sort=LastReplyDate&dir=Desc&tab=All&status=all&mod=&modAge=&advFil=&postedAfter=&postedBefore=&threadType=all&isFilterExpanded=false&page=1

And for support from a company, it would be Microsoft: https://support.office.com/home/contact
