Importing layered PSD file created in procreate (on ipad) into FCPX - colors are wrong

I have a layered image (created in procreate on an ipad pro) that I am exporting as a layered photoshop (PSD) file. When I try to bring this into FCPX (10.4.6) it comes in as a clip, but all the colors are incorrect.

Does anyone have experience using layered PSD files from procreate to FCPX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding Luis.

I checked the color profile - it is "Color LCD" (the only one on my MacBook Pro).

I create the layered PSD file in Procreate. When I drag it in as a fixed image clip into FCPX the colors are wrong.

If I open the layered PSD file in Preview - the colors are correct. I then saved it via Preview as a PSD. It loses the layers.

Finally, I drag that file into FCPX and the colors are correct (but the layers are lost).

So it seems like the "layered" PSD out of Procreate has the problem.

I copied the file to a public dropbox folder.

FCPX_Test.psd

The file is very simple. Three layers. A white background color layer, a light blue background layer (some brush strokes), and a character layer consisting of a dark blue stick figure.

In my case, when I bring it into procreate I get the three layers, but the background brush strokes are yellow, and the character layer seems to just be entirely black (with no stick figure).

Also - I tried bringing this file into photoshop and then doing a save-as from photoshop of the PSD file. When I do that, then the new file works and has all three layers and proper colors. So perhaps there is some incompatibility between Procreate and FCPX. Whatever that may be, it doesn't seem to matter to photoshop - and photoshop is able to rewrite the file without the problem.

Go figure.

I don't want to have to use photoshop, however, since I just tried it with a PS trial license and would rather not have to pass everything thru photoshop.

Thanks much for any insights.

Sorry. A dropbox user error. :-)

Hopefully that link will work.

I put two files there. One is the PSD file created in Procreate. (which doesn't work properly in FCPX)

and the second that I created by importing the file in PS and then saving as a PSD file. (which does work properly in FCPX).

Thanks again for your help.
