I have a mid-2011 iMac with a 2TB solid state drive and 32 GB ram. Since the Apple update to 10.13.6 last weekend I am constantly getting the message "Disk Not Ejected Properly" on my internal 2TB system drive and on my TimeMachine.
The system seems to be working properly.
Does anyone have a fix?

I did as much testing as I can do here. I ended up disconnecting the Thunderbolt Duo. The machine is running great. Thanks for your help.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart). Run Disk Utility and select First Aid. Do that one both drives. Reboot normally and test.
Yes. When I booted in safe mode the 2TB hard drive and the 500GB external drive did not even show up, only the TimeMachine. I got the error for TimeMachine

How long did you wait for it to show up in Safe Mode... that mode attempts to repair all drives.
Does it show up in Dusk Utility?
Sounds like a failing drive or possibly cable.
