iPhone X Display Module Replacement Program

Hello, I was experiencing display issues with my iPhone X like ghost touch as well as the device not responding to touch in the upper left hand and upper right hand areas of the screen. The phone was sent in to get repaired under the module replacement program but I then get told Apple will not cover the repair as a result of a very minute chip in the glass (where it meets the metal body not on the lcd). These display issues were happening before the chip in the glass happened. Has anybody else had this problem and if so how did Apple help you out, if at all?
