Unable to unhide rows in Apple Numbers
All of a sudden an Apple Numbers file I created and had been using to compile data started to hide rows! Any idea how to unhide these? Reverting to older versions only gives me old data. HELP!

Just guessing, but there are several common causes for this, including:
1 Maybe your table is too far up at the top of the sheet so the first few rows don't show. If so, try moving the table down.
2 Perhaps you have a filter set by mistake. Try going here and clicking the switch to turn Filters off.
3 Your rows were hidden by choosing Hide Selected Rows. Try choosing Unhide All Rows.

This has been fixed! I selected the table with the missing columns then selected Table from the Menu, Transpose Rows and Columns. Then it unhides the rows in a long vertical column. I once again selected the table and Transform Rows and Columns to reverse the process, and all rows are shown as a full table!
Hi Joanne,
Can you provide some specific details:
OS version (Apple menu > About this Mac)
Numbers version (M=Numbers menu > Abut Numbers
The specific actions you were taking just before and at the time the rows started being hidden.
The numbers of the rows that were hidden, preferably in the order they disappeared.
The first two are of general use, as different versions behave differently, and may require different solutions.
The last two are specific to this question, and may provide a clearer vision of the problem, and clues to its solution.
Any other details you can provide may also be useful.
Regards,
Barry
Hi Barry,
The hidden 2 rows started when I simply changed the format of a Date Cell. A few things to mention here, I have these in Dropbox to share the data with another coworker. iCloud would not allow me to see the Forms I set up on my iPad Pro/iPhone 7 once I Shared my file. Dropbox allows me to use Forms when sharing, iCloud does not. Forms are a critical part of my workflow!
Below are my screen captures for my Mac/Numbers versions:
Thank you for your help!
Changing the format of a cell is very unlikely to have caused rows to be hidden. Perhaps there is something else that you did?
Numbers for the Mac does not use forms, whether documents are shared in Dropbox or elsewhere.
I believe you have to store documents in iCloud Drive for true collaboration.

SGIII,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried all of the suggested measures as soon as this happened. Please see my reply to Barry, I am suspicious of the Dropbox server as the culprit. iCloud will not let me see Forms once I share these files with others. The good news here is I can still see the Forms on my IOS, I can rebuild this file but this is scary since I need this going forward in my workflow!
Another thing I tried was changing the Row Height on all Rows, this did not help either, they are still missing.
Wow!
Not something that had entered my thoughts.
Had you transposed the table at any time prior to the issue occurring? Is it possible you hid the rows/columns while the table was transposed?
Regards,
Barry
I did nothing like that to make them disappear. I simply changed the date format in the row cells and the rows collapsed. I would have never put these files in Dropbox to share with anyone if I could maintain the forms functionality from my devices in iCloud. Dropbox keeps the forms functionality when sharing and iCloud does not. Very interesting!
Numbers collaboration seems tightly integrated with iCloud Drive. I would guess you are going to have to make a choice between collaboration and forms.
