"macOS could not be installed only your computer" I think i got a corrupted update. how to i delete the latest update and re-download another one or should that be automatic. High Sierra 10.13.6
Don't want to just keep doing restarts.

Is your macOS bootable?

This is a stand alone installer. Delete it if it is not working for you. Reboot as normal and try again.

What would be the symptoms if it were working. I clicked on the download button and then the icon did the little "jumping the tray" which they do and then there was a file (?) in the download finder . ....aaaaaand it now downloaded the whole 1.9 GB file. with a proper dmg extension. ok let me work this.

Yes I went in a "Booted from the disk" so it appears to be operating but also asking me if i want to an update and reinstall and restart.
ok now a restart. see you on the other side.
