Airdrop is not a folder—it is a service.
Are you saying you have no Airdrop in the Finder Preferences?
In that case reinstall the macOS on top of your existing macOS from Recovery

I am running macOS Mojave 10.14.5... But no hint of an AirDrop folder...
I can identify an Airport untility in Utilities...
