How to view RAW photos quickly as files on mac?

I upload lots of RAW image files and place them in folders on my mac. Is there are quick way to view the files at an enlarged size without opening them in finder or camera raw? In the past i used the 'gallery view' but with the new update they load rather slowly and its not as efficient. I don't like to upload photos to the photos app or the iPhoto so just as image files simply stored on the computer or external drive.

Good morning eadkins2,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

The quickest way to simply view files on a Mac that I have found is the Quick Look feature. I've highlighted some key information here for you. Click on the link for complete details.

View and edit files with Quick Look on Mac

"Quick Look offers a fast, full-size preview of nearly any kind of file without opening the file.

You can use Quick Look for items in Finder windows, on your desktop, in emails and messages, and other places."

Take care.
