MacBook Air drops Internet Connection

I love Apple products and have used them exclusively, since getting a MacIntosh computer back in the early 90’s. But my brand new MacBook Air keeps dropping the WiFi connection on two different routers/modems and I am beyond frustrated! HELP! I thought maybe the modem/router was on the fritz, so I threw it out and purchased a new one, but the problem is still there. MAD that I spent $200 unnecessarily!

I have to reboot the computer each time the laptop loses connection. Then Safari works, for about 5 minutes, until suddenly pages don’t load again. The WiFi SAYS IT’S STILL CONNECTED, but nothing loads.

I removed past past networks in the WiFi connection history, but it hasn’t helped.

I need suggestions!

To help troubleshoot your notebook's Wi-Fi connection, I would like for you to try the following:

With the MacBook Air (MBA) near your wireless router, hold down the Option key, and then, click on the Wi-Fi icon on the macOS menu bar.
In the drop-down menu that results from doing so, please note an provide the values for: RSSI, Noise, Tx Rate, PHY Mode, & MCS Index.

Also, please provide the make & model of your current wireless router that this notebook will be connected to.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. On my drop-down menu, the RSSI is -73 dBm, the Noise is -96 dBm, the Tx Rate is 48 Mbps, and the PHY is 802.11g. I am connecting to a CenturyLink C2000a 802.11n Router. My MacBook Air is a 2017 model. I'm using Mojave 10.14.4

I lose internet connection frequently, even when my WiFi indicator says I'm still connected to the router. I have to restart my computer to re-establish my connection.

Although there may be similarities between your Mac's issues and the OP's, I suggest that you start a new post to get the best results to a solution tailored to your exact situation.
