Boot Camp Assistant is stuck on partitioning disk

Bootcamp assistant is stuck on partitioning disk. I checked on Disk Utility tool, it created OSX reserved partition and BOOTCAMP drive. But the bootcamp assistant tool is stuck and it is not making any progress. This is my 3rd attempt and it is stuck since past 3 hours now:

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your response...

I followed your instructions... time machine backup/restore... after system startup, I deleted the 'localsnapshots' created by time machine... started bootcamp assistant again... and it still is stuck at same "Partitioning disk". Then, I even performed a full format on hard drive and then reinstalled Mojave... but no luck so far.

I noticed one thing though... on console it says:- Disk is: (Null)

And then the process freezes... even though bootcamp drive is created. So, I think it has something to do with that (disk Null), but don't know what to do here:

Any suggestions?

Dealing with partitioning issues is very tricky for Bootcamp.

Here is absolutely the best thing you can do:

Close out Boot Camp Assistant and make a Time Machine backup of your drive onto an external USB hard drive. Then boot into Recovery Mode (COMMAND-R) and select to Restore Backup from Time Machine. This will actually erase your drive and partitions and give you a fresh and defragmented partition on your entire drive with no issues, garbage, corruption, or anything that Boot Camp chokes at handling. It will also restore your Apps, Data, and Settings.

Then on your freshly restored Mac w/ all your data and apps present and accounted for run Boot Camp again. 90% chance it will work fine this time.
