Big Black Bar in Split Screen

There is a huge black bar down the middle of the screen when I go into split screen mode now. It looks terrible. Is there a way that I can get this to go away?

My second screen closes when I exit split view Hi! When I'm trying to exit split view by clicking "full screen" button on top, the screen where I'm doing that becomes full, but my second screen disappears/closes (not sure what happens, but I can't find it open).
