Why does Google links doesn't show up as seen/opened in Safari?

Hi all, I've the latest install of macOS Sierra to the date of this writing and I've noticed that while I'm doing my searches through Google when I go back the links aren't showed as opened (which makes harder to me when I'm visiting a lot of sites).

This is only a Safari bug cause in Chrome works as intender, I'll share a couple of pictures to get this clearer, this is Safari:

This is Chrome:

In both of them I've clicked the Google link and go back in Safari isn't colored as seen, in Chrome is.

Do you guys have this issue as well?

Thanks in advance.

Hi kratoz29,

Are you seeing this same thing occur with all websites? If you are, try these steps:

1 - Quit Safari and all other browsers.

2 - Hold down the shift key on the left side of the keyboard as you click on the Safari icon to launch it.

3 - Once Safari is bouncing, release the shift key and let it start up.

Test and see if the same thing occurs.

If it does, try creating a new user on your Mac to see what happens there. Here's how: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. This step helps to isolate the issue further.

Let us know what happens.

Enjoy the day!

Hello kratoz29,

Thanks for reaching out on the Apple Support Communities. I see that you’re having an issue with the way the Google website is loading in Safari. Great troubleshooting thinking to try it in another browser. Let’s begin by checking over the settings listed in this article: If Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

If you find you’re still having the same thing happen, let us know if this is occurring with other websites, or only with the Google search page.

Cheers!

Hello kratoz29,

With the issue occurring in your test user, this means that it's happening system wide. The next step is to reinstall the macOS through the recovery partition. This article will show you the steps to take: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery.

If you find that you're still seeing the issue after reinstalling the operating system, reach out to Contact Apple Support for more assistance.

Cheers!
