Stabilizing Videos on iPhone X

I understand that Apple provides stabilization for videos taken with its camera. What are the specifications of this? What are the ramifications of using a handheld stabilizer such as the DJI Osmo Mobile 2? That is what happens with both the iPhone and Osmo stabilizers working concurrently? I understand other camera app(s) allow for turning off the iPX’s built-in stabilizer. Thank you. Chuck Cohen

Does using stabilization always cause the clip to be cropped? I have a project that's an MP4 from a streamed performance. There's quite a bit of vibration periodically and herky jerky camera work. It looks like the more stabilization I use, the more the image gets cropped. Is that how it works?

Quicktake Video Stabilization I noticed that using the Quicktake feature in the camera app allows you to take 4:3 aspect ratio video, unlike in the dedicated video mode. I know this has some drawbacks with the audio quality and lack of resolution options, but I'm wondering if the digital stabilization is affected, as there is less of a crop. In third party video camera apps, enabling 4:3 video mode (and using the entire sensor) also disabled stabilization. Has anyone tested this or gotten an official statement from Apple?
