Can’t log in my MacBook air

I can’t sign into my MacBook Air I for got my password and when I try to retrieve it with my Apple ID it won’t let me it’s saying it’s an ereort

Cant login using my Apple id I need to log into my old MacBook Air. It cant recognize the password. I then tried to log in using my Apple id and that wont work either. I tried resetting my Apple id and using the new id but it still wont work. What do I do and how do I get access to my MacBook? hope to get help, thanks

I can't login to my new MacBook Air Okay I just got a macbook air, and when i was updating it (it said it needed to be updated) it restarted then it came back to the sign in( name and password) and when i put it in it says it’s incorrect when i know that is the correct password. I can not log into my new MacBook Air m entering the correct password I can not log into my new MacBook Air for the first time. I’m entering the correct password and it not opening. Is it my Apple ID password. Or the password that was prompted soon set up? Either way I have entered both correctly several times and it not working?

I was able to get my password change by logging into my apple account when it had ask me thank you kaz-k for trying to help me

I did try that but the password screen never comes up it still ask me for password
