HomeKit scene failing

I arrived home from holiday to find that my ‘Arrive Home’ automation had turned on (it’s set up to switch on via my iPhone location). I have deleted the scene and set it back up and it shows ‘Failed’ when I hit the button in the home app, any ideas please??

HomeKit Troubles A couple days ago, I attempted to write a lengthy explanation as to what has been going on, only realizing once I finished it that I went way over the character limit for posts on this board. I decided to keep the whole draft and post it as separate paragraphs on my Twitter - https://twitter.com/12378K/status/1199902757894967296 - so I didn't have to leave anything out. If I can simplify the whole thing in any way, I use HomeKit accessories in my home, I set the whole thing up, I run it through my account and I share the configuration with my Mom and brother. Around the time tvOS 13 and iOS 13 released this year, for absolutely no reason, I've lost control of the HomeKit accessories from any of my devices, yet my Mom and brother are still able to control everything. There have been no changes to any settings that would warrant this to happen; it would just happen on its own. I've attempted multiple solutions but all of them come up fruitless, leaving me with just resetting the configuration yet again. However, I'm reaching out this time because the last time I lost control was about a week ago. The next day, I reset the configuration, and lost control of it two days later. Please refer to my Twitter thread for full details and examples of my problem, I would like to get any answers possible; I just hope the answer isn't really just resetting the configuration each time.

how do I delete HomeKit and start again? I have a couple of HomePod minis, a couple of Apple TVs, an iPad Air, an iPhone XR and a mbp. I have successfully added 5 nanoleaf lamps and 4 lifx lamps. I have added a couple of automations which work mostly ok - very occasionally some lamps will stay on! Every time (and I do mean every time!) I open the HomeKit app on my iPhone or iPad some lamps will show as "updating". seriously? updating? every time? I have since tried adding more lifx lamps but the process time-out, several times but I cannot add more lamps - apple support pushed me towards lifx; lifx customer helpline (sic!) we no help. when trying to add a lamp through the lifx app (which also timeout!) it does suggest that there is a problem within HomeKit. my question is: would deleting the HomeKit app from all my devices and start again from scratch solve the problem ?? I don't really want to go through the whole process of re-adding the lamps if it's not necessary. but I want HomeKit to work out-of-the-box and not employ workarounds. any suggestions?

It used to work but now its constantly not responding unless I am right next to the device. Anyone manage to get this ironed out?

On your iOS device (phone)

close the home app

toggle off and back on your location services

reset network settings

restart your phone

and if you've not already done so , update your software on phone and HomePod to 12.3
