Screen Protector

Screen Protectors for iPad.

I have recently purchased an iPad Air 3, with Apple Pencil. Of course with an high value technical device I would want to protect my screen the best I can and I have seen some videos stating that for drawing, using a screen protector does not affect the quality of the Apple Pencil on the iPad.

I was wondering if Apple endorses the use of a screen protector or if anyone else has a view on what type of screen protector and which would be the best to get?

Many Thanks,

Adam :)

I don’t use a stylus but I have a Targus screen protector on mine. I’ve also used Zagg in the past. One thing you can also look into is that the screen dimensions of the ipad don’t change a lot so you may be able to pick up a cheaper one meant for an older model...that’s why I have the targus one. It was on clearance for $5.

One thing to consider is if you want to use face ID. The protector, no matter how clear, may interfere with the front cameras view.

Apple doesn't sell a screen protector for any iPad. It's not a lack of endorsement or a statement at all. A lot of people who draw a lot on their iPad use Paperlike screen protectors, which provide a paper-like feel. But it is not a glass protector and in some ways reduces the the HD clarity of the iPad screen.

I use a screen protector on my iPad which is tempered glass, but is ultra thin and doesn't diminish the look or feel of the iPad screen. Zagg makes good quality screen protectors for your iPad and you can get one from Best Buy where they'll install it for you. There are loads of options on Amazon. Another company you might want to check out is Brydge. I have iPad Pro 11 and put their protector on my iPad because my Brydge Pro keyboard will arrive tomorrow and the Brydge is super thin at a mere .25mm. It doesn't adversely affect touch in any way and it's thin enough to fit in the keyboard hinges on the Brydge keyboard.
