Apple Music longtime subscription - can't add any new music

Recently I have tried to add albums or songs to my iTunes on my computer as I usually do. Each time I click an album to start downloading it, a white pop up box appears with with a small apple music icon in the left top corner and a loading wheel in the middle. The box never loads and then it says in the top right corner in downloads "adding item to library canceled". Has anyone else had this issue recently??

I am literally paying for an apple music subscription that I am unable to use at this stage.
