How can I reinstall the font that was used in my Mac?
Lucinda Handwriting was the font I used for my signature. After hard installed Mojave, the font is lost. How can I reinstall the font?

Lucida Handwriting has never been part of any install of the Mac OS. It is included with Microsoft Office 2008, 2011, 2016, 2019 and 365.

That doesn't matter. Pages and other apps will normally use all the fonts installed your system, whether from Apple or some other source. Lucida Handwriting came from some other source, presumably MS Office. The idea that Apple somehow "skipped" it in Mohave is just mistaken, Apple has nothing to do with this font.
It appears to be a free font, so just download it and put it in your /Library/Fonts folder.

As far as I know Apple has never supplied Lucida Handwriting. If you had it, you got it somewhere else. Maybe MS Office?
Generally, I would warn against downloading from untrusted sites. But to test I just downloaded it myself and don't see any signs of malware. Fonts are very small files and it would be difficult to hide.
Apple doesn't "endorse" any fonts. A font is a font is a font. As long as it's not damaged, or an unsupported type (such as Windows Type 1 PostScript), it will work.
Most of the fonts supplied with the OS are third party fonts. They come from a variety of manufacturers, such as Microsoft, Bitstream, Linotype and others.
An excellent source for third party fonts (well made fonts, not junk) is Font Squirrel. They don't have any of the Lucida typefaces (all produced by Bigelow & Holmes), but they have a lot to choose from.
Thanks, macjack!
But what I am starting to worry about is whether any of the free download sites are safe. When they start selling things “free”, there could be a catch. Is there a way to tell if they are free of phishing malware etc? It is extremely worrisome. I rely on the App Store free downloads. Why Apple stopped supporting some of these good fonts?

As posted earlier, I don't think Apple has ever provided Lucida Handwriting, so you got it somewhere else. Do you have other info?

In 20 years, using many dozens of non-apple fonts, I have never seen any significant problem. If a font is corrupt, it won't work right, but that is solved by just removing it.
Thank you!
You're welcome.

As Tom says, I've never seen that font in any other iteration of macOS.

This clears the matter. My favorite fonts, like Lucinda Handwriting and Britannic Bold has never been the font that MacOS carried. It means, Apple did not intentionally dropped these fonts. Just they have not enclose them as native fonts. No system conflict or anything that they poses. Just that I hope internet download is not as corrupt as I fear it may be, and will not be corrupt without Apple App store endorsement.
