keychain password problem

I needed to reset a password for a credit card account. Keychain suggested a strong password but didn't save it, so I still couldn't access my account. I tried again, this time wanting to type in my own password, but I couldn't delete the suggested password, nor could I see the whole thing to copy it down! What to do?

If you clear the password field, it will then show a popup that asks if you want to use that strong password again. It will show the whole thing.

I ran into something similar yesterday. When I entered it a second time, it was saved in keychain.

Double-click the keychain entry for the account.

Click the checkbox to view the password.

It will ask for your login password to reveal the password.
