Iphone information transfer

My old phone died, I have received a new phone. How can I get things from my old phone transferred to my new phone. Cannot access old phone at all. It has already shipped back.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 12

If you have an iCloud or iTunes backup of the old phone: Transfer content from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support


Note that iCloud Backups would have been happening automatically if you had that option turned on.


The other possibility is that you had data synced to iCloud (iCloud Photos, Contacts, Notes, etc). If so, if you turn those same options on in the new phone they will automatically sync to it. The options are in Settings > [username] > iCloud.
