iPad ringing but calls are turned off

I have three iPads all signed into the same Apple account. I have calls from iPhone turned off on them. They all ring to a different FaceTime account. When someone calls my cellphone (dialing the number and not using any AppleID) it constantly rings on only one of the iPads. I have went into the FaceTime settings on the iPad and turned off “calls from iPad.” I have went into the phone settings and disabled the calls on other devices for this iPad. If I turn off FaceTime entirely on the iPad the calls seem to stop. Basically if someone calls my number xxx-xxx-xxxx the phone call rings on my phone and somehow to my xxxxx@icloud.com account even with it set to off. My iPhone also does not accept FaceTime calls from the iCloud account that the iPad accepts them on. So if you FaceTime that account it only rings on the iPad and not my phone. All devices are up to date with latest software.

Okay, I think I understand now. I believe that if you have these alternative accounts enabled for "I can be reached at", the reason you are receiving these calls with other emails is because those are the methods people are calling you, and since you can be reached with those addresses, the number or email you have signed into your device is what is ringing because those are attached to your apple id. Correct me if I misunderstood your problem.

Your post is extremely confusing. Here are some facts that may help you clarify it:

  • You refer to "FaceTime Account", "Apple ID", and "iCloud Account". Actually, there is only one type of Apple account, and it is your Apple ID. That Apple ID governs FaceTime, iCloud, and everything else associated with Apple.
  • You refer to "calling". A call may be a cellular telephone call or a FaceTime call. Importantly, a FaceTime call may be addressed to an Apple ID, or an iPhone telephone number. Note also that a FaceTime call may or may not include video.

@Nkatzen these are calls on cellular. They are not FaceTime calls. They can originate from a landline or any brand cellphone.

@ Sherman I apologize for your confusion. I thought by offering all the information it wouldn’t be. But as I mentioned the calls are dialed to my cell number. They are cellular calls. They can be from any phone and are not FaceTime calls. All three iPads are logged into the same Apple ID. They do have different addresses on FaceTime. One receives FaceTime calls from my Apple ID account. One receives FaceTime calls from my iCloud account. The third receives FaceTime calls from a separate address. Those are separate ids with separate emails. My Apple ID uses an AOL account while I also have a separate ICloud account.

you are on the right track and that’s what I thought but the problem iPad does not have the phone number to be reached at on it. If we use any of the “can be reached at” it will only ring the correct iPad. This problem only comes when someone dials my phone number. I can’t find any settings enabled on either the iPhone or this iPad that would allow this to happen. The other two iPads do not duplicate this problem and their settings are all identical. I feel that it is a FaceTime related problem because disabling it stops it. I just can’t figure out how my phone number is tied to the one account.
