my macbook air always has two spaces when typing

I bought my computer in January, and I am using it for school, for some reason it started to have two spaces when typing in a word document or an email or just whenever I use the keyboard. Not all the time but every other word. What can I do to fix it?

The space bar in my Mac Air doesn't introduce a space between words The space bar in my Mac Air doesn't introduce a space between words. Instead it pops up a blue frame around the window in use. To put a space between words I need to press shift+space bar which makes typing very slow. Can this problem be fixed? Cheers!
