Yikes!! What to do! Backing up a 1 yr old iPhone X for the first time....

I'm attempting to back up my husband's 1 yr old iPhone X using Windows 10 iTunes under his appleid. When I plug the phone into the computer, it is identified but wants to know if I would like to set up this iPhone as a New PHONE or restore all of your info from a previous backup? (The previous backup that is shown is from my (different) appleid and is a different phone).

YIKES!!!

No! I just want to back it up! I don't want anything changed, moved, rearranged....I just want to back it up.

I'm terrified that if I choose to set it up as new iphone it will erase a year's worth of emails, photos etc.

What do I do?? Thanks!

iPhone X, iOS 12

I know the feeling. The wording on that message should be improved. However, I found that when I was connecting a new iPhone to computer iTunes for the first time and I got the choice to restore from backup or setup as new, the setup as new choice does nothing to the phone (e.g., it does not erase anything already on the phone).
