Is there an app I can download to create sort of a kids profile in which I can add approved apps for his use and it doesn't allow him to exit unless a passcode is entered? Kindle Fire tablet has something like this and I tried looking for ipad but haven't found it. Thanks in advance.

You can lock the iPad into a single app using Guided Access. But you cannot "lock" the iPad into 3 different ones like on the fire.
